matured versions of 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2. This version now called as 3.x
release. Presently, you will have the two versions of Joomla, i.e.
Joomla 3.2. It is the latest version that recommended for new
installations. User will also find a previous version of Joomla 2.5
and 3.2 features are some breaking changes from 2.5.
On the basis of the
latest versions, Joomla 2.5 is recommended. Those developers, who are
using Joomla 2.5, it is recommended them to wait for the next LTS
release i.e. release of 3.5.
Applicable Version For You
Those developers, who are
using Joomla! 1.0, can know that this version is no longer supported
by the developer community. So, it is advisable to upgrading to
Joomla 2.5 or Joomla 3.x. Moreover, if you want to update Joomla 3.x,
simply wait for the next LTS of 3.5.
Even if, you want to
update Joomla 2.5 then you have to upgrade 3.5 using update
